This picture book in poem form is about a young girl watching animals and nature change along with the seasons, from fall to winter. The text and illustrations in this book are phenomenal. This book earns 4 out of 4 stars from me because of how it made me truly feel like I was experiencing firsthand, the wonder of watching the animals preparing for winter. The reading of the book is not your traditional rhyming poem, but lyrical in the way the author keeps reminding us that Winter is coming.

One of the poem books I picked out also talked about the different seasons, it talks about fall, winter, spring and summer. I always feel younger reader's are engaged in poems books about the different seasons because it actually occurs in there life, so they can easily relate the poems to there everyday lives. I bet the illustrations are phenomenal, the colors probably consist of fall colors (deep red's, oranges, yellows) and the winter colors probably consist of blues, and whites etc. The poem book I chose also isn't your traditional rhyming book which is why it maybe a little bit more challenging for younger readers, which is always a plus.
