Welcome
Crystalis is 16 and is your typical teenager. She is
what I call my star child. She is obsessed with doing well in school so she can
achieve her goal of getting into medical school and becoming a physician. She
also enjoys representing her school by cheering in the cheerleading squad and
competing on the swim team.
Anthony is 13. I call him my athlete. His life
revolves around basketball. He plays for his local team, enjoys following his
favorite teams on the NBA, and in his free time, he enjoys writing analytical
sports papers. His dream consists of making it to the NBA, but his fallback
plan is a career in sports analytics.
Noah is 7 and is my wild child and the one most
responsible for my gray hair. He is very creative and imaginative, and his high
energy level makes for a full calorie burning day. He loves marvel and collects
superhero figurines. He loves cooking and helping me try new recipes. OF my
three kids, he developed an early sense of independence. His love of the
kitchen leads him to looking up recipes on his own and trying them out (with
assistance from me).
Being a mother and watching my children grow and
develop has led me to wanting to explore children's literature. My children
read, not as much as I would like them to, but they have their favorite books
and authors. As a mother, I'd like to explore more and research answers to
questions like, what is children's literature? How does reading effect child
development? How can I inspire my own children to read more?
Your children are adorable! I hope that you will be able to find some books through this class that you can recommend to them!
