Tonight for bed,
Noah and I read Daddy Adventure Day by Dave Keane. This is actually one
of Noah's favorite books since the first time it was read to him. The story
follows a young boy that is beyond ecstatic to go on his Daddy adventure day
with his father. He is so excited he wakes his father at 4:15am in order to
begin their day. In true parent form, Daddy is a little grumpy and sleepy.
Throughout the morning, the young boy has to remind his father that his
undivided attention is required on this day, causing Daddy to forgo his morning
paper and calls from work on his cell phone. Both make their way to a baseball
stadium, where Daddy buys his young son some fan gear like a hat and pennant.
They watch the game and go for dinner complete with a banana split for the
young boy. When they get home the boy is super excited to tell his mom about
their fun filled day before falling asleep in his dads arms on the sofa, full
of the days fun memories.
I give this book 4 out of 4 stars. The story hits home for children like Noah who feels the time to recount HIS many Daddy adventure days is right before lights out. It truly is an adorable story and the illustrations are fun to look at and easy to follow along with the story.
